AMSA Volunteers at Project Food: Serving Food and Distributing Essentials in Downtown Riverside

AMSA members joined Project Food in downtown Riverside, coming together to support the local homeless population with a day dedicated to compassion, service, and community care. This impactful event gave our members the opportunity to prepare and serve meals, as well as distribute essential clothing items to those in need.

Our volunteers worked together in the kitchen, preparing nourishing meals with care and attention. Serving the meals was a meaningful experience for our members, who were able to interact directly with the community, providing not only food but also a sense of warmth and dignity. Seeing the gratitude from those we served reminded us of the importance of showing up for our neighbors.

In addition to meal service, AMSA organized a clothing drive to collect much-needed clothing items, which were distributed by our volunteers throughout the day. From jackets to essentials, the clothing donations made a difference for many individuals facing difficult circumstances, offering them comfort and protection against the elements.

Project Food was an inspiring experience, showcasing the impact that small acts of kindness can have on a community. We’re grateful to everyone who donated and volunteered, and we’re looking forward to continuing our efforts to support and uplift those in need. Thank you to all who joined us—it was a day of service, solidarity, and compassion that left a lasting impression.
