First AMSA Meeting: Introducing the Club and Committees
The first AMSA meeting of the year was an inspiring start, packed with introductions, opportunities, and a strong sense of community among students passionate about healthcare and medicine! We were excited to welcome both new and returning members, setting the stage for a year full of learning, growth, and impact.
We began by sharing AMSA’s mission and the many ways members can get involved and explore their medical career interests. To help members find their unique path within AMSA, we introduced our diverse range of committees. Each committee offers an opportunity to connect with like-minded students and make a meaningful contribution to the club’s activities. The Historian Committee will document AMSA’s journey, capturing highlights from meetings and events. Our Volunteering Committee invites members to participate in impactful community outreach and service projects. For those interested in creative storytelling and engagement, the Publicity Committee will focus on promoting AMSA’s events and sharing our members’ experiences. The Social Committee is dedicated to organizing events that bring members together, fostering a supportive and fun environment, and finally, the Fundraising Committee will plan initiatives to support AMSA’s goals and ensure our events and projects are well-resourced.
In addition to committee introductions, we covered the many benefits of AMSA membership, from gaining access to professional resources and networking opportunities to being part of a community dedicated to advancing healthcare knowledge. We also gave a sneak peek into our upcoming events—hands-on workshops, guest speaker sessions, and volunteer projects—that will help members expand their skill sets and explore different healthcare fields. We’re excited for the journey ahead and look forward to seeing how our members grow, connect, and make a positive impact. Here’s to a fantastic year with AMSA!
