On Tuesday May 16th, UCR AMSA was invited to participate in Hillcrest High School's Science Night.
Here, board members were able to talk to high school students who are interested in pursing a pre-medical route when they go into their respective universities. They specifically focused on the opportunities UCR AMSA has such as our non-clinical and clinical volunteering events, socials, and guest speakers.
They also had some activities planned for students to try out such as taking vitals using pulse oximeters, measuring pulse manually, listening to heartbeat via a stethoscope, and using a blood pressure cuff. They also learned how to draw an anatomical heart!
UCR AMSA had a great time informing students about what it's like to be a pre-medical student, and they can't wait to do another event with Hillcrest High School in the future!
