On May 21st, a group of randomly selected UCR AMSA members had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. This event brought together AMSA volunteers and pediatric patients for a delightful painting session. Through their creativity and compassion, AMSA members aimed to bring joy to the young patients' lives.
The painting session began as the AMSA volunteers paired up with the young patients, providing them with art supplies and guiding them through the creative process. AMSA volunteers provided support and encouragement every step of the way, recognizing the therapeutic value of art and its ability to uplift spirits.
Through this volunteer opportunity, AMSA members witnessed the strength and resilience of the pediatric patients. They were inspired by their determination to overcome challenges and maintain a positive outlook.
This volunteer opportunity served as a reminder of the importance of compassion and human connection in the medical profession, reinforcing AMSA members' commitment to serving the Inland Empire communities.
